Pierre Claude is the CEO of AMVO Ecommerce Association and the President of French Tech México.
Summary

Pierre Claude is an experienced intrapreneur and business architect with a 20-year track record in large companies and start-ups. He has 10 years of experience at the C-level, leading and promoting the transformation of organizations to succeed and grow in the digital environment. 

Currently, Pierre is the Chief Executive Officer of the Asociación Mexicana de Venta Online (AMVO), a leading ecommerce trade association in Mexico, where he is responsible to lead the development of e-commerce by sharing the best practices for the member companies in Mexico and the world. 

AMVO is a non-profit organisation, established in 2014 with a mission to promote ecommerce in Mexico. The organisation hosted The Mexico Digital Trade Dialogue in 2021, supported by eTrade Alliance to catalyse discussions and support for the growth of Mexico's ecommerce sector and the work of the Mexican government in promoting the digital economy and MSMEs, with a particular focus on women-led businesses in ecommerce. 

He has also held various executive level positions, including the President of La French Tech Mexico, Digital Consulting Partner at ActivaMente Group, and Marketing Director for Nestle Waters Latin America. He has an extensive international experience with a local scope in Japan, Germany, France, and Mexico and has led cross-functional teams of over 30 people and direct teams of up to 20 people. 

Pierre did a Leadership Programme from London Business School, Digital Marketing from Tecnológico de Monterrey, and General Marketing from ESSEC Business School. 

Biography

Pierre started his career at SAVENCIA Fromage & Dairy Deutschland in Germany as Junior Product Manager in 1998. There, he contributed to the identification of new growth drivers on a flat market with a strong market leadership. He was the in charge of optimising the product mix (recipee, packaging design, innovations, promotions). Pierre developed the brand first stretching innovation (snacking category) from concept to execution. 

He, then, joined Colgate-Palmolive in 2000 as the Brand Manager of the Colgate France’s largest local brand, La Croix liquid cleaners. Under his leadership, the brand moved from #7 to #3 brand in 3 years on value added segment. He, then, progressed, to become the Group Brand Manager for SOUPLINE (fabric Sofeteners). He was the in charge of market leader, Colgate France’s 1st equity in terms of turnover / 2nd advertising budget, and managed to achieve a historical market share.

In 2005, Pierre joined Sara Lee Branded Apparel as the European Marketing Manager, responsible for the innovation pipeline definition. 

Pierre became the International Brand Director of Nestlé Pure Life, 1st bottled water brand worlddwide. Under his leadership, it became #1 bottled water brand worldwide with 10 billion bottles sold. He progressed to become the Marketing Director, Latin America, Head of marketing for Nestlé Waters in Latin America. 

Pierre was instrumental in the double digit growth in turnover (Mexico doubled) for the brand, with significant gains of market share in all markets, consolidating #2 position in supermarkets. He was successful in repositioning of the 7 local brands with superior brand essences and communications, under his leadership. 

As Digital Consulting Partner at ActivaMente Group, which he joined in 2014, he helped companies to plan and execute their digital business transformation. 

Pierre became the CMO at Dafiti México, the biggest fashion e-commerce in Latin America, with operations in Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia and Mexico. Dafiti is part of Global Fashion Group (GFG), one of the leading fashion e-commerce worldwide, operating across 4 continents and 27 countries, employing over 9,500 people.

Pierre co-founded La French Tech México, an initiative launched by French entrepreneurs to promote a collective dynamic with the aim of putting France at the center of the large nations of start-ups dedicated to new technologies and digital, in 2016. 

In his current capacity as the CEO of AMVO (Asociación Mexicana de Venta Online), a leading ecommerce trade association in Mexico, he is responsible for developing tools to support the growth of these companies. AMVO reports on the development of ecommerce and share experiences / success stories and works with the authorities and banks to grow the ecosystem.

With his leadership skills and education, including a Leadership Programme from London Business School, Digital Marketing from Tecnológico de Monterrey, and General Marketing from ESSEC Business School, Pierre Claude is committed to driving the growth and success of e-commerce in Mexico and the world.


Recognition and Awards
Pierre received the recognition of ‘Famous Brand’ from the IMPI among a selective group of 140 brands (Cinepolis, Bimbo, Nike among others) for AMVO's HOT SALE brand by IMPI (Mexican Institute for Intellectual property). AMVO also won the Top 10 Best marketing campaigns Worldwide 2020 by SCOPEN, for the campaign conducted by M&C Saatchi Chilanga and AMVO in 2020 as the most outstanding campaign that has been carried out in the midst of the pandemic, and as an example of an exemplary collaboration between advertiser and agency. In 2019, AMVO also won Best Promotion (Silver) Issued by Effie for HOT SALE 2019.
