Jake Chervinsky

Jake Chervinsky serves as general counsel at Compound Labs and an adjunct professor at Georgetown University Law Center. He became interested in crypto back in 2017, believing that the technology could fix many persistent problems in the world. He has become a voice on crypto regulatory issues involving U.S. securities laws, such as the SEC vs. Kik case, Ripple, stablecoins, no-action letters, Blockstack and more.

Jake Chervinsky is General Counsel for Compound Labs, Inc., a financial technology company building a decentralized protocol for autonomous interest rate markets on the Ethereum blockchain. Before joining Compound, Jake represented individual and corporate clients in cryptocurrency-related securities litigation and government enforcement defense matters at Kobre & Kim LLP. 

Jake began his legal career with Baker McKenzie LLP, where he focused on anti-corruption and anti-money laundering compliance and investigations. Jake also clerked for the Honorable Fernando M. Olguin of the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California. He received his J.D. from the George Washington University Law School. Mr. Chervinsky specializes in litigation and government enforcement actions involving digital assets. He is a leading commentator on legal issues related to the blockchain industry and is frequently quoted by prominent media outlets on developments in the cryptocurrency space.
