Courses

The MBA is offered in full-time, fully-employed and global formats and contains a market-facing curriculum that integrates real-world experiences to teach students how to make an impact on the global economy. The Full-time MBA starts with an MBA prep course that presents students with the basics, a self-assessment, online tutorials and on-campus workshops and occurs during the summer.  Foundations in leadership are also covered and students identify their strengths and weakness and create a leadership development plan.  In the middle of the programme, students choose between four tracks:

  • Marketing
  • Finance
  • Consulting
  • Custom

The programme allows students to customise their schedule if they desire in the first year, and then they pursue tracks geared towards their specialisation in the second year. The programme is capped off with an Applied Management Research Programme which places students in teams to complete a consulting-style project with Fortune 500 companies, start-ups, non-profits and government agencies.

The Fully-Employed MBA Programme is 33 months long, part-time and designed for the mid-career working professional.  The first half of the programme is comprised of 44 units of core courses and the second half consists of 40 units of electives.  A master’s thesis is required in the form of a six-month field study called the “Global Access Programme” and class formats are chosen from one of three options listed below, provided by UCLA Anderson.

The Executive MBA Programme is designed to enhance participants’ leadership skills, allow them to collaborate with other senior executives, experience global cultures and markets and analyse the operations and ambitions of their organisations.  The learning method of the programme emphasizes the master of the fundamentals of business and analytical problem-solving and the development of a broad view of strategic leadership.  This method has a goal to develop within executives a global perspective, an integrated approach to management and teamwork skills. During the final year of study of the programme, executives part-take in the Strategic Management Research Programme which provides organisations with an opportunity to engage with a team of experienced professionals who are students of the programme.  Teams are assembled that represent all different business specialties and spend an estimated 2,000 hours developing a strategic plan for the company.  The plan usually incorporates financial, marketing, operational and strategic recommendations based on the research and team. Actions could include launching a new product or service, offering an existing product to a new market segment or providing in-depth analysis of an organisation’s restructuring and reorganizing. Below is the curriculum of the Executive MBA Programme, provided by UCLA Anderson.
