History

Krannert School of Management, Purdue University, teaches students to think analytically and act responsibly through the essentials of management and innovative teaching techniques. The business school was founded in 1962 and has provided students with a dynamic educational experience embedded with cutting-edge research and world-class faculty teaching methodologies.

The school was originally founded as the Department for Economics and the Department for Industrial Management and Transportation in 1958 but shortly changed its name in 1962 after a sizable donation was made to the university from Herman C. Krannert. The business school has recently been accredited by the AACSB in 2008 and educates over 2,500 students a year. Krannert has recently revamped its educational housing to more up-to-date facilities that are equipped with high-tech educational tools and classrooms. Rawls Hall is one of these advanced learning facilities at Krannert and is filled with 13 electronically advanced classrooms, a professional career centre, a multi-media-based auditorium, 25 breakout rooms, distance learning facilities, and advanced computer labs.  


Courses

The Full-time MBA Programme teaches students quantitative reasoning abilities and to adopt a global mindset while conducting business. The programme is two years and consists of eight modules. Below is a list of the first four modules, presented by Krannert:

The Executive MBA Programme is designed for ambitious professionals looking to move forward in their careers and combines distance learning with immersive learning to make collaboration and delivery of classroom materials easily accessible to participants. The programme is delivered through six, one-to-two-week residencies over a 19 month period. Comprising a combination of functional electives, immersion electives, active learning projects, and required courses, the programme is aimed to provide a solid management foundation to participants. The first two residencies focus on the basics of accounting, finance, management, and leadership. The next three residencies cover more advanced topics, such as change and risk management, and a combination of immersion and functional electives are taken as well. The sixth residency takes place overseas and discusses legal and ethical environments and global management.

Although Forbes and US News do not rank MBAs globally, they were included for their impact in the US
