Coming from a science background, Bart Smets started his career as a technician at Europdata Systems, where he evolved to Manager RF (Sales, Project Management and Product Management). He further developed his knowledge in field force automation by joining TheCoca-ColaCompany. Bart left the Coca-Cola Company in 2005 to start up his own IT Consultancy company in order to guide other companies and suppliers in the complex material of dealing with optimal organizational performance, suppliers,outsourcing, business development, innovation processes.

Among his specialties are crypto currencies and blockchain initiatives, OTC Deals, turn around management, IT strategy, security strategy, services organization design and restructuring, commercialisation of managed services, change management, vendor performance management, sourcing strategy, business process and IT outsourcing, application – process and systems monitoring. All of this combined with a strong commercial drive for as well internal as external commercialisation.
Bart Smets joined Coca-Cola as Director of IT Services and Chief Technology Officer for Europe, Eurasia and the Middle East in 1998. During 7 years, he was responsible for all IT Services provided to all locations in 64 countries, including all external relationships and several outsourcing engagements. Additionally, he was in charge of all IT Programs and Projects as well as the operational support for all Business Applications, Infrastructure (data centers, networks, …..) and end user equipment and support.
As regional CTO, his responsibility was in the management of the teams around infrastructure, datacenter, first and second level support, security, and all external vendor relationships, partnerships and outsourcing engagements.
As a seasoned leader in different sectors and large companies, Bart is focused on business strategy and growth. For him, strategy is key in a company’s performance. He defines strategy as the focus on long term results to drive business performance, optimise ICT and Security organisations and boost Service Providers and vendors.
